Fresh Market in Hershey Review

PInterest Pin for Fresh Market in Hershey Review

My birthday was on Wednesday and I gave myself a long weekend off. On Thursday, I had the chance to go to the Fresh Market in Hershey. If you are concerned about crowds, Thursday morning is the time to go. There was plenty of parking and it was not at all crowded inside. My parents went once on a Saturday and there was no parking available so they left without stopping.

The market has two levels: The Garden Level and the First Floor.

The Garden Level has local vendors selling things such as sweets, doggy treats, soaps, olive oil and produce. Because they only recently opened at the end of last year, there’s still plenty of space for more vendors. I would love to make a trip back in the future when they have more vendors.

My first stop was Doggie Delights. They’re local to Lemoyne, PA and make homemade dog treats. How cute is the pizza treat I bought for my puppy niece. I also got some freeze dried shrimp for my cats. You can also find them at West Shore Farmer’s Market and the Broad Street Market.

At Weaver Nut Sweets & Snacks, I bought the green mint leaves just like my grandma used to get all the time. You can buy prepackaged candies or build your own bag. There are lots of tasty choices!

Amaranth Bakery is based in Lancaster and offers gluten free baked goods. I bought sunflower honey bread for myself and some maple almond granola for my sister-in-law. In addition to the Fresh Market in Hershey, you can also find them at the Lancaster Central Market and the Bryn Mawr Market.

Moore Desserts by Julie is owned by a Hershey native. I bought 2 cookies and cream cupcakes, a chocolate salted caramel cupcake, and a red velvet cupcake.

Peter Piper’s Pickles of Hershey is locally owned and operated and offers 22 flavors of pickles including ranch, hot garlic, horseradish, and Old Bay. I really wanted to try the Aloha pickles, but they didn’t have any in stock when I went. I’ll get them next time, I hope! I bought my dad some horseradish pickles instead.

Seasons Olive Oil is family owned and has additional locations in Lancaster and Bethlehem (where they mix in the spices). The Tuscan Herb Olive Oil and Herbs Di Napoli Balsamic were recommended to me for a delicious bread dip and salad dressing. I signed up for the mailing list and rewards program.

There arenot just food stands on the lower level at the Fresh Market in Hershey, there’s also Butterfly House Soaps, which sells handmade soaps, bath bombs, and candles. I couldn’t resist buying this cute little cat soap! If you sign up with your email, you can get a free soap during your birthday month, so I also got this Raspberry Vanilla soap. It smells delicious!

My last stop on the lower level was S. Clyde Weaver. They’re a well known deli staple in the Central PA area with store locations in Lancaster and numerous market stands from York to Allentown. I bought two different kinds of cheddar and some crackers to go with.

I know I missed a couple stands and I definitely missed the fresh produce, so next time I go, I will check that out, too. The downstairs at the Fresh Market in Hershey is very spacy and there’s plenty of room to get around. There’s also an elevator and ramps so it is wheelchair accessible.

The main level with all the restaurant vendors does have a tighter squeeze. There were way too many choices and I was starting to get tired thanks to all the goodies I was carrying around, so I stopped at Longo’s Sandwich Co to get lunch to go.

I bought a BLT and sweet potato fries for myself and a cheesesteak for my dad. Check out the Fresh Market directory for more tasty lunch and dinner options.
Overall, I enjoyed my trip to the Fresh Market in Hershey. I’m looking forward to more vendors joining the market and would go back again.
