Easy Mediterranean Green Beans

Mediterranean Green Beans Pin for PinterestWhen my great grandparents immigrated to the United States from Northern Italy, a friend or family member hid these green bean seeds in their coat, and we’ve been growing them here ever since.  Read more about my grandfather and his garden.  I love picking ripe green beans from the vine and eating them raw, but this recipe for Mediterranean green beans is a perfect summer side dish.fresh picked green beans

I bought a bunch of different spice blends from Calicutts Spice Co to get back into Iris and Honey and make some tasty recipes for you.  The Mediterranean spice blend has garlic, rosemary, thyme, lemon peel, sun-dried tomato, and more savory spices.  It’s seriously addicting.  I can think of no other way to enjoy the Mediterranean green beans with a nice slice of cheese pizza.  Maybe sprinkle the Mediterranean spice on the pizza, too.

This recipe is super easy and I hope you enjoy it!  I considered blanching the green beans first, but that’s too much work and the texture is perfect simply sautéing them on the stove.  Four ingredients are all you need for a flavor packed side dish.
