Fasta & Ravioli Co. Boxed Review

Fasta & Ravioli

Fasta & Ravioli Company is a company that makes fresh pasta, gourmet ravioli, and traditional sauces.  The company uses fresh and locally sourced ingredients.  Their main shop is in Pleasant Gap, they have a stand at the Broad Street Market in Harrisburg, and can be found at other farmers’ markets in the area.

When I found out that Fasta & Ravioli Co. offers a monthly pasta subscription service, I had to give it a try.  The plans are not recurring, so you can sign up for one month or one year.

Since the company sources most of its ingredients from local farms, this subscription box is perfect for a locavore like me.

There are 12 meals in every box:  seasonal ravioli, premium ravioli, and pasta and sauce.  Each month has a different variety of pasta or you can choose the House Favorites box or Specialty box.

I tried the February box which included smoked mozzarella ravioli, lobster ravioli, cracked pepper pappardelle, and champagne butter.

First, I made the smoked mozzarella ravioli and topped it with the champagne butter.  We had it for dinner along with grilled steak.  The mozzarella ravioli is amazing!  The ravioli dough is made using red peppers and is perfect with the chewy smokey goodness from the mozzarella.  The champagne butter smells and tastes delicious, too!

For the cracked pepper pappardelle, we had it for dinner with grilled pork chops.  I was surprised at the amount of pasta that came in the small box.  I have never had a better tasting pasta anywhere.  Store bought just doesn’t compare to the freshness and the the texture of the pasta from Fasta & Ravioli.  Even if you don’t try the monthly subscription service, you’ve got to try the pasta.

I am waiting for a special occasion to serve the lobster ravioli and I have a recipe for a lemon cream sauce to go with it.  I am sure it will be amazing as well.

The Price:  Fasta & Ravioli Company’s Boxed is cheaper than other meal subscription services like Blue Apron or Home Chef.  They also offer free shipping.

The Shipping: I received my box the day after I placed my order!

The Meals:  While I do love pasta and it can make a filling dinner, I would like to see some additions from local farms, such as fresh herbs or other veggies to make more complete meals.  I know this would probably raise the price, but it may be something for Fasta & Ravioli to consider in the future.

Overall, I loved the price and fast shipping.  The ravioli and pasta are fresh and so delicious.  The cooking directions are easy to follow.  I don’t mind adding things like steak or chicken to make a full meal to serve with the pasta and ravioli, but I might like to see more complete meals in the future.  I would recommend Fasta & Ravioli Boxed to anyone who loves fresh pasta and loves supporting local business.
