Roasted Pear Puree

I’m baaack! I have decided that I’m going to start posting gastroparesis friendly recipes here. They probably won’t be appealing to everyone, but I hope they will help my friends who are suffering from gastroparesis or other GI issues.

I am still going to use seasonal and local ingredients, so without further ado, here’s a tasty pear puree.

First, slice the pears in half and roast in the oven for about 20 minutes. Let them cool until they’re warm. Peel them and throw them in your blender. Add the honey, chai spice, and vanilla. Puree everything until it’s smooth.

I split mine between three containers to freeze and then thaw in the microwave when I’m ready for a snack. The pear puree is very sweet and perfect for a fall treat. I bought the pears at Strites’ Orchard and the chai spice from Calicutts.

I probably won’t post as often, but know that I’m still around. Check out my Instagram to keep up with my latest shenanigans.
