I’m starting a new series called Focus on Blessings. Every Sunday, I’m going to reflect on a few things that brought me gratitude during the week. Post what you’re thankful for this week in the comments!
Family is very important to me and I am thankful that I live across the street from my grandparents. My grandpa is funny, a good cook, and someone I look up to. I am so grateful that I get to spend every Sunday dinner with my parents and grandparents.
There is nothing better than a cat curled up next to me when I’m feeling down or even when I’m feeling good. My cats just make everything better.
The Unsubscribe Button
I get so many emails everyday so I decided to unsubscribe to a lot of them. I was tired of getting ads for sales and things that I don’t even read. It may not seem like much, but the simple act of unsubscribing to emails that aren’t relevant was very liberating. (photo source: Pixabay)
I’ve been reading The Wise Heart: A Guide to the Universal Teachings of Buddhist Psychology by Jack Kornfield. In it, he quotes Robert Johnson who said, “It is more disrupting to find that you have a profound nobility of character than to find out you are a bum.” Often it’s easier to dwell on what’s wrong than the good things in your life. I’ve been dealing with a lot of anxiety and this book has definitely helped me focus on the good. If you’d also like to read it, check out my affiliate link below.
