Refreshing Borage Lemonade

borage lemonadeI hope everyone had a great 4th of July!  We had a picnic at my aunt’s house over the weekend.  It down poured when we got there, but the sun soon came out and we were able to party!  We had Schmidt’s sausages, all kinds of salads and vegetables, baked beans, fruit, and of course, dessert.  I love celebrating holidays with my family because we know how to make delicious food!  What did you do to celebrate?

It’s so hot here in Central PA so I hope you’re keeping cool!  On Monday, I posted an article about how to grow borage.  It’s not too late to get it planted if you haven’t!  Today, I’m going to share a recipe I made for borage lemonade that will help keep you cool on even the hottest of days.

Borage has a crisp, refreshing cucumber flavor and the addition of the lemon juice gives it a nice kick of citrus.  You’re going to love it, I promise.  The smaller leaves have the best flavor, so be sure not to pick leaves that are too big.  I also made some ice cubes with borage flowers to go with the borage lemonade.

This recipe only makes enough for two people to enjoy.  If you’re an introvert like me, two servings is plenty!  However, if you’re having a party, you can easily multiply the ingredients to serve all your guests.
