Review of Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar in Harrisburg, PA

This is my review of Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar in Harrisburg, PA which features a local, farm to table menu.  I love being able to support a business that also supports local farms.  Many of the cheese and meats used at Harvest come from local farms.

I celebrated my birthday at Harvest with my parents and my best friend.  This was my second visit there.  My first visit was not that impressive, but I was glad I gave it a second chance.  It was fantastic.  The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about the restaurant and the foods served.  My main issue with my first visit was the lighting.  The restaurant’s lights were turned down so low I could barely see my food.  This time, however, we were seated near a window and the lighting was just right.

I started with a lavender mojito and my mom had a sangria.  The mojito was crisp and delicious and the sangria was sweet.review of Harvest

I also had a Greek salad with no olives, since I don’t like them.  The feta from Roundtop Farm was the perfect touch and complimented the red wine vinaigrette that was topped on the salad. For the main course, I chose spring sea scallops.  They were cooked just right and cut like butter.  The scallops were topped on a savory lemon basil risotto.review of Harvest

My dad got cedar roasted organic salmon.  It was served on a cedar plank, which my dad asked if he could eat.  That answer was no.  I know he enjoyed his meal because he savored every bite of the salmon and the fingerling potatoes, squash and grilled carrots that were served with it.  I don’t have a picture because my dad is a bad photographer, so below is a photo of my scallops.review of Harvest

My mom chose BBQ braised short rib.  It was served with cornbread with jalapeno honey butter that enhanced the flavor of the  mango-pineapple BBQ sauce on the short ribs.  My mom said it was very flavorful and cooked to perfection.review of Harvest

My friend does not like anything fancy or out of the ordinary, so she ordered a local grass fed beef burger with cheese from Hope Springs Farm.  She also ordered a side of mac and cheese.review of Harvest

The waitress treated me with a complimentary chocolate salted caramel mousse since it was my birthday.  I apologize that I didn’t take a picture.  It was eaten entirely too quickly.

As you can see, Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar has choices that will satisfy different taste buds.  There is even a selection of vegetarian items and items under 500 calories for those wanting healthier options.  I love that they use local ingredients and had a very good experience there for my birthday.  I highly recommend a visit.

  1. Making me hungry. I have only been there for lunch, and never disappointed. Everything looked scrumptious
